My Photo Project 1/24/11

These pictures are of an air conditioning unit outside of our new house. The first was around 8. The second was around 12. The final

picture was around 8 at night. The lighting on two of them seem very similar, the first two to be exact. They were taken only four

hours apart and the second one I wanted a shadow cast over it but I didn’t have enough time to take a picture around that time. The

pictures that I took were very simple. It was outside of my window in my kitchen. The air conditioning unit had a little bit of snow on

it and I believe it accumulated more as the day went on. I thought that the air conditioner was very unique in its looks. I wanted a

unique picture and the mesh in the window helped to fulfill my want.

How our government protects its citizens.

The first law that I researched was the ESA which is the Endangered Species Act, this Act was created to protect endangered species and was made to help keep endangered safe from harm and helps make sure that anything a person does not endanger any special species. This law would effect businesses that want to make their business larger and cannot because they would violate this act. This would help people that’s job is to protect these animals and would keep them safe for longer. This didn’t really cost companies money because they never really were bothered by this.

The second law that I researched was the Consumer Credit Protection Act. This act was created to protect unfair practices against people with large amounts of debt. This would help consumers because they weren’t afraid to spend money thinking that they were going to get harassed. This was harmful to business because they could lose money and have no way to make someone pay their debt. This really affected companies because they lost money to people and never had the chance to make them pay it back.

The third law that I researched was the Equal Pay Act of 1963. This act was created to give men and women equal pay for the same amount of time that they worked. This law helped women gain rights in the workplace and this is what really started to get women their rights in the world. This cost most companies more money and they had to spend more of it for women and their pay.

Political Structure

A Diet with a Prime Minister and others elected to help him with his political duties. This Government is made after the U.S. democracy. This government was changed after the U.S. occupation of Japan during the second World War. This government also has the same type of branches as the U.S. does with our governmental structure.

Economy

Japan has more of a mixed economy that it does any other type of economy. Japan is more of a service market that sells services in exchange for goods, and they produce very little agricultural goods. The one thing that they can export is computers and other technology. The U.S. is one of the main buyers of the technology produced by Japan. One of their main imports is food and other basic materials. The main place that they import these materials from is the U.S. and many other countries. Japan has a trade deficit with the U.S. but this is unusual for Japan because they always seem to have a trade surplus with the U.S. for the past 26 or so years. The standard of living for this country is very high. The type of currency that Japan uses is the Yen. The Yen in comparison to the U.S. dollar is worth .012393 USD.
